Glass Rose Mosaic Tile Workshop

General Information

Location: 6800 Hubbard Road, Clarkston, MI 48348

Age: Adults and children 12+ (children 12+ may need an adult helper)

Focus: Just in time for Mother's Day.... Please join us for an artful afternoon creating your own unique glass rose mosaic tile. These pieces are either 10"x8" or 12"x8" depending which style you choose. Various glass colors available for rose in center, as well as background fill around the rose. `The result is a gorgeous work of art for your home (or a beautiful handmade gift for someone special). All instruction and supplies are included in the workshop fee.

Activities include: We will be using cut glass pieces and apply them to our base with glue. There is a general pattern to follow, but you can feel free to adapt if you like. Please note that since we are using glass which may have sharp edges, as well as glue that must be applied carefully, this is not a workshop for small children. Some over the age of 12 may still need an adult helper (you please be the judge). You may create one or any number of finished pieces per family/group that attend, but pricing is per finished mosaic tile artwork piece. Note that our workshop hosts will be grouting your artwork after completion of the workshop, and finished tile pieces will be available for pickup in the Sunflower Market beginning Wednesday, May 8th - Friday, May 10th (so you will not be taking it home with you the night of the workshop).

Date/Time: Friday, May 3rd, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Cost: $30 per tile artwork created

Samples: The yellow rose is an example of a finished product. The pink is a partially complete piece that needs the background filled in, as well as grout.
