Location:   6800 Hubbard Road, Clarkston, MI 48348

Age:  Ideally suited to kids ages 3-10 (under 5 must attend with caregiver)

Focus: The Homestead Club is a nature-based educational program at Clarkston Family Farm, presented to you by our partner in outdoor education, Sarah Bann of Nature and Nurture, along with community garden coordinator Meg McGinn.   

This new club consists of 3 different series; it began with the inaugural Fall Series which focused on animals.  The Winter Series focused on Homesteading Principals, and the upcoming Spring Series (April 7th - June 2nd) focuses on plants and gardening.  

There will be two different time slots offered on Mondays, each will feature a safe indoor and outdoor learning environment and small group setting focused on nature-based activities and hands on learning.

Activities include:   During this 8-week program, some of the things we will be learning about are: gardening, caring for plants, benefits to gardening, types of plants, plant life cycles, plant anatomy, soil science, art and cooking.  

Dates:   Mondays:  April 7th / 14th / 21st / 28th,  May 5th / 12th / 19th & June 2nd (8 weeks)

              No meeting on May 26th (Memorial Day)

Times:   Morning Session:  10:30 am - 12::00 pm  

              Afternoon Session:  4:30 pm - 6:00 pm 

Cost:     $180 

There is an additional childcare option available from 3:45-4:30 before the afternoon session for $20 ($2.50 per session).  With this option, pick up will also be available for students coming from Independence Elementary.

Please note that all cancellations are subject to a $25 cancellation fee.  No refund will be granted for cancellations occurring less than one week prior to the start of classes.  Thank you for understanding.

Drop off and pick-up:  In our Healing Hoop House.  Club activities will be held on the farm’s many teaching, growing and farm animal spaces.

Additional Note:  Please have kids dress for the weather (extra shoes/mud boots are a great idea :)

Don't forget to complete the Homestead Club waiver (this will be sent to you upon registration in a welcome e-mail)  and bring it to our first club meeting along with your sturdy shoes, enthusiasm and sense of adventure!
